Never Knows Best

I just would like to take this opportunity to inform you guys. While you don’t know, the senate is now looking for a way to pass the bill on how to control the internet. Yes, our own internet.

If the bill is not criticized. The bill would be left unchallenged when passed. Prompting ways for the government to censor the internet in their own discretion. “In their own discretion” means everything that they wanted to block, they’ll block it. The law would then be too powerful when implemented. They can even block sites that criticizes the government.

I don’t mind internet censorship only when the content is deemed as illegal (ie Child Pornography, Drug Trafficking and the likes).
But then it still the parents job to protect their children and NOT the government.

I think censoring is not the solution here. We just need to educate the people instead on how to surf safely, primarily the parents who are concerned to their children. Andami-daming software kaya dyan na nagbblock ng indecent sites.

Not to mention, taxpayers nanaman ang magbbayad for the implementation of this law.

The government should have just concentrate on rampant IT issues instead (ie Internet Fraud & Hacking), and not censoring.
Oh well…
