A hypocrite soldier…
It was a rainy day yesterday. We all thought that classes were suspended since it was raining hard again. But alas, classes weren’t suspended. It was only when we went home that I was informed that there was an ongoing coup at the Manila Pen in Makati. I lol’d hard when our school doesn’t even bother about the coup LOL. Anyway, when I heard about the news, one thing crossed my mind, si Trillanes na naman ba yan? Then I saw people watching outside the tv shop and yes it was indeed him -__-;; While in the bus on my way home, I really lol’d hard to Guingona when a reporter asked him on where are they and he hastily replied that he is on the Manila Pen. Ugh! LOL *wait tawa lng ako…. HAHAHAHAHA* tae malamang nasa Manila Pen kayo, hindi ba obvious mr. Former VP HAHAHAHA. Ang tanong naman kasi kung nasaan sila [kung sang part ng Manila Pen] -___-;; Patawa talaga tong taong to.

When I went home, I’ve searched for articles regarding the incident. Trillanes walked out in the court at around 10:45am of that day, then he marched to the Manila Pen. WTF no one even bothered to stop him at that time. Trillanes and his troupe forced themselves inside the hotel. It is on the function room of the hotel that they gave a press conference together with his supporters. Saying that PGMA should step down because she is not legitimate, because of the scandals and etc…

One statement of him really irked me. When Trillanes said

“You have been witnesses and victims of the kind of ruthlessness that the administration has been giving to the people,”

WTF Mr. Trillanes, DIDN’T YOU KNOW THAT YOU FORCED YOURSELVES inside the hotel with ARMED individuals and you’re giving a damn speech about the ruthlessness of the administration?
Ugh what a hypocrite!

and don’t get me started with the media people. Why are they giving it such a BIG deal when they were arrested when in fact they were already requested by the police to vacate the premises and yet they continued to cover the news. Hindi ba talaga nila maintindihan kung bakit sila pinapaalis at inaresto dun?! Actually sa ginagawa nila pwede sila maging hostage nung mga taong na andun or better yet pwedeng magpanggap na taga media yung sundalo para makatakas. Sila tuloy ang gumagawa ng sarili nilang problema. I again LOL’d hard when I saw these individuals posing with their arms raised with the plastic handcuffs. Ano kayo bayani?! HAHAHA

Pero pasalamat ka pa rin Mr. Trillanes sa media, kung wala yang mga yan sa tabi mo. Naku baka ngayon hindi ka na buhay.

ugh. I’m slacking off again. I’m back at procrastinating stuffs again @_@
Anyway, I have lots of stuffs to tell and write about (School, taal trip part 2, maragondon trip, oston, duty etc…). Maybe it’ll be done by this week if I’m well motivated enough and if I’m not procrastinating LOL.

Ah well, I need also to update the WP since it has a new version out ages ago LOL.
Ugh, work keeps on piling up. I think I need to stop this habit of mine (procrastinating). But then sleep > anything. I wub sleep more than anything.

g2 explosion
At least 8 died and 90+ were injured in the Glorietta 2 Mall explosion at around 1:30pm today. Seeing the pictures taken by disney and thru our local news, I doubt it’s an LPG tank blast, the explosion was HUGE in magnitude, it even blasted the roof of G2.

A tragic day indeed. I just can’t understand why some people could do this things “just to be heard”. I find it pathetic.

Moreover, I just hope, politicians would not use this event for their personal gain, it really sickens me just thinking about it; relating this event to politics.

Anyway let’s just pray for the those who lost their lives, the health of the injured victims and for their families and friends. I just hope wala na madagdagan sa fatalities and injured.

School Days

damn I am already anticipating my so-called vacation in Singapore on our sem break, when the college decided to held an advanced class for our 2nd semester subject in our sem break. So there will be no three weeks break for us. My only vacation is Nov. 1-4 — just holidays and a weekend. Then on Nov. 5 would be the start of our 2nd semester.

Is it too much already?
This is it, I should care less more about people now. I am already sick and tired of pleasing and helping people who wouldn’t even bother to appreciate my efforts for them. I am soo pissed off at people who can’t even keep their promises. I always end-up expecting them to do their part and yet at the end of the day, only to find out, that they wasn’t able to do their part. Not to mention that I am the one who even tried to contact them if there are any progress, pero wala nga progress. Damn, I hate these people, they don’t even bother to contact you or call you, telling that they will not be able to come or do it. Ano yun nagintay ako sa wala at umasa lang ako ng buong araw sa wala? Bullshit!… Pucha ayoko na, I give up. I am already soo tired telling people what to do. Malaki na sila dapat alam na nila ang ginagawa nila. I guess I’ll stop making efforts with these kind of people anymore. It’s way too much already, umaabuso na sila. At kung sakali man maghabol sila sa akin, hah! maybe i’ll give them my very very very lowest priority time. They are not even worth my time.

meh it’s the update again.

I’m thrilled to announce that Version 2.3 “Dexter” of WordPress is now ready for the world. This release includes native tagging support, plugin update notification, URL handling improvements, and much more. This release is named for the great tenor saxophonist Dexter Gordon.

The entire team is really proud of this release, and I’m happy that this is our second on-time release under our new development schedule. The grand experiment of a more agile WordPress with significant features in the hands of users more often is working. I could write a blog post about each new feature, but I’ll try to be brief:

1. Native tagging support allows you to use tags in addition to categories on your posts, if you so choose. We’ve included importers for the Ultimate Tag Warrior, Jerome’s Keywords, Simple Tags, and Bunny’s Technorati Tag plugins so if you’ve already been using a tagging plugin you can bring your data into the new system. The tagging system is also wicked-fast, so your host won’t mind.
2. Our new update notification lets you know when there is a new release of WordPress or when any of the plugins you use has an update available. It works by sending your blog URL, plugins, and version information to our new api.wordpress.org service which then compares it to the plugin database and tells you whats the latest and greatest you can use.
3. We’ve cleaned up URLs a bunch in a feature we call canonical URLs which does things like enforce your no-www preference, redirect posts with changed slugs so a link never goes bad, redirect URLs that get cut off in emails on similar to the correct post, and much more. This helps your users, and it also helps your search engine optimization, as search engines like for each page to be available in one canonical location. More info here.
4. Our new pending review feature will be great for multi-author blogs. It allows authors to submit a post for review by an editor or administrator, where before they would just have to save a draft and hope someone noticed it.
5. There is new advanced WYSIWYG functionality (we call it the kitchen sink button) that allows you to access some features of TinyMCE that were previously hidden.

You’ll notice that two of those features are straight out of the most-voted for ideas list. That’s just the user facing stuff, if you’re a developer you’ll be interested in:

1. Full and complete Atom 1.0 support, including the publishing protocol.
2. We’re using the new jQuery which is “800% faster.”
3. Behind the user-facing tags system is a really kickass taxonomy system, which adds a ton of flexibility. It’s probably the biggest schema upgrade since version 1.5.
4. The importers have been revamped to be more memory efficient, and you can now add an importer through a plugin.
5. Through hooks and filters you can now override the update system, the dashboard RSS feeds, the feed parser, and tons more than you could in 2.2.
6. The new $wpdb->prepare() way of doing SQL queries.
7. Finally there were over 351 tickets in Trac closed for this release, with over a hundred people contributing. This is the polish, the hundreds of tiny bug fixes and features that make WordPress what it is.

Yeah, we just had a long vacation of 6 days, thanks to the monsoon rains and a holiday on monday (Ninoy Aquino’s day) w00t! and I just hope they won’t reschedule my duty rotation.

Midterms?
Oh shi I forgot, I still haven’t scanned my books and reviewed yet for my midterms next week! Ansarap kasi matulog lalo na kung ganito kalamig LOL! oh well, I still have 2 days to go (procrastinate…. procrastinate hahaha)

Wordpress upgrade again?
Yeah looks like it’s teh eternal upgrade of WP again.
Here are the details from the blog:

Today we have two security-related releases available for both users of our main 2.2 branch and the legacy 2.0 branch. As these releases include only security and minor bugfixes they should not cause any plugin or theme compatibility issues, so you have no good excuse not to upgrade.

So please upgrade your WP blogs to WP2.2.2.

Well it’s time for a new layout already. I’m already tired of fixing the bugs from my previous layout and decided it has to go. Luckily, I found this layout recently and i’m loving it better than Salmon :P

Silent Sanctuary…
So do everyone knows them? Probably some, probably some do not. Silent Sanctuary is one of those newest band that hits the Ph music scene. So what sets them apart from the others? Yep it’s the strings. They are one of the few bands who manages to ensemble electric guitar, bass and drums with a classical violin, viola and cello. Knowing I’m a sucker for strings, I just love the music that is played on these instruments. Then I’ll get emo or something hahahahaha j/k; but seriously I love how this kind of instruments sound, it’s just relaxing and it makes me “feel” the music. Anyway, I happen to stumble upon on this band just months ago with the “Ikaw Lamang” fame.

Gawd, nakakaLSS talaga yung kanta. I love the music esp. the violin, hehehe. Much to my surprise, the promotional video was shot on a public school in Imus Cavite, no wonder I can recognize that big tank thingy on the video’s background. hehehe. Anyway, since I liked their “Ikaw Lamang” song, I also happen to search for their other songs. Then, I stumbled upon “Rebound” on youtube, I was again surprised because I happen to like this song last year but I just didn’t know who sung the song - Silent Sanctuary pala hehehe. I also loved how the violins (+viola and cello) were played, it’s so smooth, grabe idol!!! hehehe

Anyway, while I’m watching the video of “Rebound”, a familiar person (the violista) shocked me… like WTF! I know that person!!! He’s my batchmate in high school and he’s a part of our school’s band back then; he plays the violin. After a few searches I also found out that he composed “Ikaw Lamang”. Pucha, astig mo talagang musikero dude, idol!! Sadly he left the band temporarily(?) to pursue his studies(?) in medicine(?).

Envious…
Shit ang gagaling naman nila. Nainggit naman ako dun. Sila may mga nararating na at bigtime na… eh ako? *sigh* This is one of the reasons why I hate browsing at my friends in friendster, I always tend to compare myself to them and end up blaming myself for being the “loser” in the “game”. Most of my batchmates are already well-established, have their own jobs, and already gaining those achievements in life. eh ako? wala pang nararating kahit alin man sa 3 yan. Hindi bale, at least alam ko may direction na ko sa buhay ko at alam ko darating din tayo diyan ;)

*blech* upgrades again. For those who are using WP v2.2, upgrade to v2.2.1 now!

2.2.1 is a bug fix release for the 2.2 series. Since 2.2 was released a month ago, the WordPress community has been improving fit-and-finish by identifying and fixing those little bugs that can be so annoying and by fine-tuning some small details. The result is a nicely polished 2.2.1 release. The full list of bugs fixed in 2.2.1 is available here. Here are some highlights.

* Atom feed validation fixes (#4274, #4307, #4381, #4382)
* XML-RPC fixes (#4314, #4329, #4315, #4469)
* Widget backward compatibility fixes (#4275)
* Widget layout fixes for IE7 (#4264, #4268)
* Page and Text Widget improvements (#4302, #4259)

Unfortunately, 2.2.1 is not just a bug fix release. Some security issues came to light during 2.2.1 development, making 2.2.1 a required upgrade. 2.2.1 addresses the following vulnerabilities:

* Remote shell injection in PHPMailer
* Remote SQL injection in XML-RPC Discovered by Alexander Concha.
* Unescaped attribute in default theme
